Events
We have a number of organised events throughout the year which our players can join of their own will. These include local games and gatherings, or overseas tours and tournaments.
Local
Overseas
Christmas Tournament
We gather together to celebrate such jolly and festive season every year, with hockey games at the Cages and followed by a Christmas dinner at Cotton's. Dinner games and Secret Santa gift exchange to be offered, dressing up is optional, friends and families and plus-ones are all welcomed!
Family Tournament
Only time of the year when we bring participants from all 3 sessions (Tuesdays, Saturdays & Youth) and any introduced friends, together for a fun day at hockey followed by a BBQ party. Activities for both adults and children are available.
Youth Day
We understand the important of inspiring and be inspired by the next generation. Youth Day was organised to bring our senior and youth players together in the same teams. It is an exchange and demonstration of skills, to show each other how it is done on the hockey pitch.
ZOAT
A full-sized tournament organised by different committees with the local Dutch embassy around major locations in Asia. It was originally created to bring the Dutch hockey community in Asia closer together, but extended to a more international event welcoming non Dutch-based teams and clubs as well. The Shanghai Dragons has always sent a fully international roster, both a men's and women's team, to participate in the tournament
Easter 6s
A 6-a-side mixed tournament organised by the Hong Kong Football Club every Easter. the 2-day event is held at the Club's stunning pitch located in the heart of the city. It welcomes over 30 teams all over the world, which we usually send two teams over.
Other Trips
In 2017, we had organised a trip to Tokyo and played against the Keio University Team. Spending 3 days in Tokyo with the team was definitely a life-time memory. We hope to bring these trips back soon!
Collaborations
Other than our regular sessions and events, we do collaborate with external groups and organisations to further promote the sport of field hockey in Shanghai.
We also travel domestically and play with the Beijing Bandits on a regular basis, aiming to bring the international hockey community in China closer together.

Beijing Bandits
Much like us, the Beijing Bandits is the only social field hockey club/team in Beijing, also consists of both local and expat players. We do have organised trips and games with them on a regular basis, and even joined forces to compete at the ZOAT tournament.
Corporate
A while ago, we have collaborated with a global sports company to organise a trial / introductory session for its staff members. As part of their regular staff development program, our players went to the company's regional headquarter and led a session.
Sports Groups
Our players are also active members of other sports groups in Shanghai. They are always welcomed to connect their friends with us, and we can specifically organise a session so more sports-lovers in Shanghai can try the game of field hockey!
